Nick Paton’s American Sign Language

 Nick Paton is an Edinburgh-based photographer nearing the end of his BA in Photography and Film at Edinburgh Napier.

This series is from a bigger body of work – American Sign Language Collectively the work focuses on visual language and the use and function of the image.  All images from the series were taken in Canada in a School for the Deaf, near Toronto – all those in the image (and 16mm film) use American Sign Language as their primary use of communication.
