So, this is 2013. This month, in our Globes edition, we welcome an international array of writers to our pages. US writer Wes Henricksen reimagines the fable in his short story ‘The Scorpion’, which retains the subversive innocence of all good fables. Mexico-based poet Jack Little (founder of The Ofi Press) recalls a moment from that most international of trades, the English-language teacher, and the recent historic flight of Felix Baumgartner, in his two poems for NLP. Finally, regular contributor to NLP Andrew McCallum Crawford (based in Greece) takes us for a suffocating, fogbound walk up Arthur’s Seat and into the past with a woman who is “veiled in mist, like an apparition”. Andrew’s recent collection ‘A Man’s Hands’ is available now.
